Too Busy!
OMG It cant be August?
I have just been super busy.Im too busy to have a blog LOL.I have enough trouble finding time to sleep.I have worked 8 days (or mostly overnights rather) in the last 10 and yesterday was 10 hours.Anyways today was the first day ive had to myself since i cant remember. It went way too fast. These past holidays were the first school holidays i have ever worked so that was a bit different for the kids.Luckily my mum helped me out with the kids and I tried to make up for lost time every chance i got
So now to find a few pics from the past month
Kayley at her half yearly dance display~Troupe dance
Very tired dancing girl~ Panda eyes
Lauren and Hayden on the same day..They all performed in Acro and Loved it.So much so that Lauren has decided to get back into dancing and of course has to do it all..ballet,jazz and tap.Thank god i have a job
Another one of Miss K on her way to the dance display and in her pose that she ends her dance in..You cant touch this!
In the holidays I took the kids to the grass slides.Just a hilly bit land beside the river that is popular for sliding down on with cardboard.I got some from work.We had a picnic and they had an absolute ball sliding down every which way you can.I could not get them away and it cost zippo
Off to the Movies to see Kung Fu Panda
Cheers

My beautiful girl is 6 plus lots of catch ups
I have had lots happening and lots of pics to share
OMG where to start? A couple of weeks ago (the week before Kayleys birthday) we went to Taronga Zoo.My animal mad girl was busting to go there for her birthday and we were busy the next 3 weeks so if we didnt go this day we wouldnt have got there.Problem was the weather looked a bit dodgy and Jase was very wary about going .I vowed that unless is was pouring..we were going.I bought 4 cheap umbrellas on the way.The weather was not good LOL.It was very cold, windy and mostly raining. The wind blew my unbrella inside out which was a cack.We made the most of it and of course she still had a ball. Not even absent zebras (which are her fav) monkey and gorillas would dampen her spirits
Before we left.Yes she raided my lipstick LOL
The giraffes..My fav.The backdrop to where these gorgeous animals are situated is stunning in real life.A definate tourist must see
Hayden,Kayley and Lauren
Birthday pics
I bought her a good outfit which she liked and i thought shed wear it out to dinner but she chose to leave on her Hannah Montanna gear which she loves LOL
All she wanted for her birthday was a bunch of fresh flowers and a photo album with her zoo pictures in it.She wanted pics of every animal LOL.She did get a bit spoilt with other things though. She chose some lillies and the florist added some daisies in.They are still in her room and its day 9.we have been changing the water and trimming them. There was loads of buds so she has been able to watch them bloom. They only cost me $10 so worth every cent
All her gorgeous hair stuff and jewellery is from Lisa of Giggle'N'Groove.I was lucky enough to be the winner of a box of bling when i placed an order .It is all very much loved here.Kayley has worn it all at every opportunity.Cant speak highly enough of the service and product.Due to my lack of photography skills i can promise its even nicer in real life.
Kayley on her way to her first dancing estoddford.Didnt get a chance to get a pic in her costume..She came home with a "first" ribbon
My new classes.Kayley took this pic late one arvo just before dark in the backyard.Do I look intelligent? LOL
My dear friend Deb and I at our 20 Year highschool reunion. What a blast!.Was so great to catch up with everyone.Deb came down from QLD and we have been friends for over 30yrs.
Beautiful Corey Boy!. Just had to share this pic that was taken today.I am minding Corey (who is my friend Lisas little boy) today and he is asleep at the moment.Such a gorgeous, happy, good boy.He has just turned 2 .Who said 2yr olds were terrible?
Well thats an overload of pics.Think that will do for now LOL
Cheerio for now

The Eye Glass
LOL Didnt know what to call this post so thought that was a bit tongue in cheek.Mmm might be a drawn out post.Something that affects so much of my life but also so very little at the same time.
Just recently..Only because of my high profile job as a console operator (hehe) I have noticed that my vision isn't all that crash hot.I have to record rego numbers when cars stop to fill up (due to the not so honest ones that like to fill up and do a runner)The ones that park closest to my window, I am okay with...next pump up and i often struggle to make out a lot of the numbers/letters.Because of this its made me aware that other things at a distant aren't as clear as they should be
So i visit an optometrist and organize to get some glasses. No biggie.Load of people wear them.Mainly just for work and night driving. If i was just a house wife I probably wouldnt need to worry(which had been my main occupation for some time) He said i would pass a driving license eye test..not easily..but just.
I get my license renewed every 5yrs.I panic that one day they wont pass me.With my glasses one will just be plain glass.
When i was 5 I lost the vision in my right eye.I had an accident.Playing horsey rides in the backyard with some contraption I put together .A wire thing you used to take your garbo out on ...kinda like a little trolley and I attached an indoor clothes line.Elastic about 1cm thick with hooks on each end.Thought i was clever not using the actual hooks to attach it...i tied them on so they were more secure. .I had it around my waist and tied it onto the trolley and asked anyone if they wanted a horsey ride which my neighbour who was there willingly obliged (she would have been about my age too)Now being 5,the ties woundn't have been that good which was proved when it undone as i walked and the hook flung right into the middle of my eye.
I must have blacked out.I do remember but its hazey.I remember playing and being in the back of the ambulance, off to Sydney eye hospital.Dont remember any pain.Back them they had a whole hospital dedicated to eyes. Was operated on and another to follow a bit down the track. The damage was irreparable but they did a pretty good cosmetic job.My eye doesnt dialate and has no lens.I always wondered why I automatically put my hand over my eye when in bright sunlight.Ive seen pics of me as a kid and i have my bloody hand over my eye LOL.Last time I saw a specialist which was probably about 8 odd years ago he said " Oh there is no lens there..that would make you sensitive to sunlight.A "penny dropped" moment. I went to the specialist as I hadnt been for many years and my dad had said to me that i should go as with all the medical science you never know what they can do now but the specialst confirmed..nope it is definatey permanent. They have been giving people heart transplants for yonks but they cant make my blind eye see...go figure. He did comment that they had done a very good job on my eye though
They did try a lot of things to try and get the sight back including wearing a patch over my good eye to try and strain my bad one to see. While this happened I couldnt see a darned thing...fun! Glasses would made no difference to my bad eye either.
Anyways my eyes are different but not overly noticable. Some people dont even notice or they just notice but dont comment which is what you would expect.I think at night its less noticable when my active eye dialates and looks more like the other. The optometrist made me laugh. His description was that it was "not enough to frighten young children " LOL
Having said all of that (Yes i know I can waffle LOL),It really does not affect me at all .I really only think about it on occasion when something draws attention to it.I see clearly (well close enough) but my view is not as wide.Put your hand over one eye and that what i see.Having been like that since 5..I dont know any different and am so greatful for our gift of sight. In the grand scheme of things its such a very minor thing.I am very lucky to have what i do.
If i see my kids doing pontentially dangerous things though (like flying their skipping ropes around like a lasso)I am probably a little more over the top.Driving I am extra cautious and i have never caused an accident in 20yrs of driving.
Its not something i tell people unless something was to come up.My employer has no idea and i dont see the need for them to know really. Its no secret but no big deal worthy of mentioning .I was in my last job for over 13yrs.I must have told someone or maybe a couple of people i was close to (can't really remember) and one day a manager says to me " Oh I know you have a glass eye" WTF..where did you hear that ?(its not glass..it is still the eye ball i was born with) .No doubt some chinese whispers going on there. Then i made a sarcastic joke"yeah sure and when i get tired..I pluck it out and sit it on the desk for a while" LOL
Its all nothing really but just something little about me

Well I have 2 days off now so really looking forward to that.Since working nights shift..I so appreciate the nights i get to sleep in my bed.Its pure bliss.Who would have thought something you do normally without a second thought can now be so appreciated.

Happy Mothers Day!
Happy Mothers Day to all
I awoke EARLY to my 3 with a bundle or beautifully wrapped pressies.Handmade (the best kind) and from the Mothers Day stall at school. These included lip gloss, nail buffer, candles, windchimes and also some nice mugs I helped pick out.I will take some more pics later.I only managed one and my camera died.I did fix it (the lense needed cleaning and battery charge) but by then i was busy with other things (like cleaning up)
So here is a pic that my 5yr old daughter Kayley spent 2 nights colouring in, in her room.I just love this to bits.I knew she was up to something as she kept worrying Id see what she was doing. She loves colouring in and is quite good at it
It would have been nice to have asleep in and I did try but it wasnt going to happen.Jase cooked bacon and eggs though so that made up for it
My heart goes go out to the mums that are "missing " today. I dont know if its possible that they miss moreso today as they do everyday but i guess its another significant reminder .Hard to find the right things to say but my thoughts are with you

New working life
Well I have been super busy getting used to working life and trying to balance with my family and getting sleep.I'll have my little waffle here and then get on with some more light hearted fun kid stuff,Okay? My new occupation is I guess what you or I would call a "servo chick" or technically a "console operator" and before you laugh along with me...Its a job right? I didnt exactly have employers knocking on my door after so many years out of the workforce raising my kiddos.
I work 11pm to 6am 3 nights a week with some extra here and there. Last week was my first working week after training. I did 4 shifts and to say i was buggered is an understatement.I felt like i could barely walk LOL.During your shift you dont feel it but when you stop ,it kicks in. I am sure in time I will get used to it.Its not just the "Ive been staying up half the night on my butt on my computer/self inflicted" type of tired. Its more a "Ive been stocking, cleaning and serving on my feet all night and need sleep "type tired. When I sleep, I am in such a deep sleep.I know this also cos i am having weird dreams which i dont normally.Having said all that,I am enjoying it and i think working outside of the home can do wonders for self esteem.
I am very grateful to have a job and will just takes this as it comes and see how long my body can handle the nights.I'm hoping that in time things will fall into a pattern and Ive never been one to need loads of sleep. I particularly was looking for night work so i could work the longer hours without having to use care and also wouldn't be stuck in school hols as i would be if i committed to a permanent part time day job.I do also think it is much easier to get a job if you are currently employed so i am one step ahead in the right direction.
Kayley made me laugh. She was asking me lots of questions about my job and she says "Mum I like what you do.Cos working in a service station would be reallly hard you know" She was so serious .God I love her

Tagging along
I have been tagged by the lovely Sue J
These are the rules:
Link the person who tagged you
Mention the rules on your blog
Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them
Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers blogs letting them know they have been tagged.
Okay, well this gets the 'ole brain working and see what i can come up with.I'm not very quirky you know
1.I wear some makeup EVERYDAY (embarrassment).Sad I know but i feel kinda naked without it.Not always full makeup but I rarely go completely bare faced, even for days at home .I also have blonde eyelashes so I really need a bit of mascara.I dont really worry what I look like by the end of the day but i have to start out okay.I look horrid without makeup
2.I can fall asleep just about anywhere LOL eg:In the movies, sitting in a chair whilst the kids are doing acrobats, sitting on one of those steel type seats with a brick wall behind me while Kayley is in swimming lessons...you get the idea? When i used to catch the train to work many years ago I would crash and wake up on auto pilot just in time to get off
3.I am really good at washing but not so good with the folding and ironing.I wash just about everyday and any tops, dresses (kids of course, i dont do dresses) etc go straight on coat hangers and are dried that way. They then go straight in the wardrobe to be ironed when needed and only if needed. The rest of the clean washing piles up in my laundry and gets done once or twice a week
4.I have a habit of saying sorry when i dont need to.For example ,if someone bumps into me I say sorry to them .I just automatically do it.I dont know why and sometimes i will think to myself afterwards 'why the heck did you say you were sorry"
5.Lately,because I've put on weight and gone up in size of some things ,I have started cutting the size tags off my clothes.I do not want to see and be reminded what size they are
6.I read the newspaper everyday.I dont watch the news so this is my way of staying in touch with whats going on in the world.
Now for tagging others. This will be hard as I really dont know that many bloggers and a lot of the ones i do know have been tagged already

Girly Stuff~ Beaut Belville & Pancake People
This post is especially for my friend Sue to say a big "Thank You" for kindly purchasing these pancake boy and girl moulds and the cute little kiddie tongs.Love ya xoxo I wish i had taken a pic of them in their boxes before the kids excitedly ripped them open.We will have these forever and i will always think of you Sue when we make them..I can see myself making these for the grandkids one day LOL
These were our first attempt .The girls said they are delicious..Of course moreso than regular pancakes even though its the same mix.The shape must make them taste better LOL.Kayley was announcing the amputation of each limb as she ate "Hear goes his arm, mum"
Now I did get into trouble as "Sue" they told me , used choc chips for eyes and buttons etc and we didn't have any. They remembered from me showing them your blog.Gosh, kids dont forget things do they? I had forgotton. Not to worry as they were still very much enjoyed. When we went shopping today they reminded me about the chop chips and they were purchased for the next lot.
Now for the beaut lego Belville Sunshine Home set that arrived this week. Thanks to Janelle for making me aware of this girly lego stuff. We have had Duplo for years, since Hayden was little and I wanted to sell it on ebay as i thought they had outgrown it.Hayden has regular lego but its not as appealing to the girls as "pink" lego.So many times they convinced me not to sell the Duplo even though it rarely got touched.I finally convinced them with a promise to spend the $ on this.I wanted to do this on the weekend and get in there and help as i thought they might need it but Lauren couldnt wait so she built it all by herself with Kayley as her apprentice
Now in keeping it real, I must add that it wasnt all smiles yesterday as indicated in the pics. There was lots of squabbling going on between my three little darlings.Must be that its nearing the end of the school hols. They are a bit better today though, thankfully

This week I have spent 4 days in training for my new job and luckily my mum is back from holidays and helped me out looking after the kids.My Aunty Eileen (and my Uncle)who we rarely see as they have lived in QLD have been staying with my parents and my girls are just in love with my aunty and didnt leave her alone
My job is nothing flash and will be 7 to 8 hr night shifts (bar any extra shifts I pick up)which suits me as it means it doesnt affect the kids at all.I can sleep when they are at school and i'm not someone who needs loads of sleep. If i was to get a permanent part time job I would be stuck in all the school holidays but now although i may be tired in the school hols ,we will manage .I am so thrilled to have a job after many months of searching daily and applying for all sorts of jobs all to no avail.I know this job will be so good for me not to mention the much needed pay. This will mean i will need to be even more organized to fit everything in and no more late nights on the computer.Mind you I was up the night before my first day really crook and only got a couple of hours sleep.I just couldnt miss my first day so battled through and took the bucket in the car with me and I survived.
Anyway, here is a pic on my 3 on the way to see HSM

Lest We Forget
I am so behind in blogging.Been super busy and i will post some more over the next couple of days as a catch up but cannot go past the meaning of today
ANZAC DAY marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.It is a day when Australians reflect on the many different meanings of war and remember those who fought for our beautiful country.
They shall grow not old, As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
With the setting of the sun, and in the morning we will remember them.
Lest We Forget
Thinking of my dear pop today.Always remember him with his wireless attached to his ear listing to his horse races.I was about 13 when he died.My dear Nan lived another 10 odd years and couldnt wait to be with him
Casting back on a bit of history that affected his life (and so many others) greatly~
Prime Minister Robert Menzies spoke these words in his address to the nation on 3 September 1939. World War Two had broken out two days earlier when Germany invaded Poland. After Britain and France declared war on Germany, Australia, part of the British Empire, promptly followed suit. It would be six years before Australia, and the world, was at peace again.
Did some googling and found my dear pops service record on the WW2 roll.Hard to believe but there is roughly a million names on that roll which just goes to show the enormity of it all
Name | DARCY, HUGH JOSEPH |
---|---|
Service | Australian Army |
Service Number | NX53931 |
Date of Birth | 17 Jun 1904 |
Place of Birth | CONCORD, NSW |
Date of Enlistment | 9 Jul 1940 |
Locality on Enlistment | MORTLAKE, NSW |
Place of Enlistment | PADDINGTON, NSW |
Next of Kin | DARCY, VERNA |
Date of Discharge | 8 Dec 1944 |
Rank | Sapper |
Today ,even though I might have been dealing with my kids squabbling and doing boring housework, I did still think of the bravery and sacrifice of all of the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC), who served our country

Kitty and Butterfly
We had a great weekend.Laurens bestie who moved to Victoria last year are up this way and Gen stayed with us for the weekend.
Today I took them to a truck show.We dont go for the trucks..just for the 12 rides that the kids can go on endlessly once you get in.Its actually a really cheap and funfilled day. There is also free face painting and fairy floss
Here are my gals.Dont let that cute little Kitty Cat fool ya.She can be angelic but by gosh she can be one mighty terror too. We'll take her anyway she comes
Cheers

Blogland Boldness!
Okay Therese..you got me by passing on the dare by Soozadoo .I have been seeing this going on in blogland a bit lately where you post a pic of yourself. Its a showing of us mums who always hide behind the camera and use it as the perfect excuse as to why we have hardly any pics of ourselves. How convenient that is LOL
Well here i am today.I took one of myself but the angle managed to display a very prominent double chin (which of course is really not there) so i asked my son to take one.Now maybe I am cheating by changing it to black and white but if Sheye with all her talent is allowed them so am I hehe. Please note i haven't been to the hairdresser for 4 months (seriously) I cut my own fringe and have to get there real soon
On a side note I am so happy to have my boy back from school camp.He was VERY homesick and we missed him so much
Also I have a job.*Squeals* Certainly far from a flash one but i dont care.I will write more in an up and coming post.I only found out yesterday and wont start for a couple of weeks.
Cheers

10 Randon bits about me
Taking inspiration from the gorgeous Sheyes blog I thought Id give this a go.I’m pretty boring so will have to rack my brains (what is left of them)Mmm this may be a bit confronting.Off the top of my head
1. I worked in a bank for 13yrs.Was supposed to be until I figured out what I wanted to do.Guess I never did that LOL.Think my calling came when I became a mum
2.I once had a pet turtle named Sam.I painted his name on his shell with nail polish or was that liquid paper? Dad bought him home when he nearly ran over him on the road one night in the rain.I built him an enclosure with his own pool and fed him dog food.He ran away LOL
3.My hubby calls me cuddles (all the time) or cuds for short which doesn’t sound that good.Apparently I am cuddly (Rolls eyes) Guess it could be worse
4.I hated my white legs so much in high school. The day prior to having to expose them with a summer uniform I decided to try out fake tan (New on the market back then).I put lots on.LOL Woke up the next day with very dark brown/orange legs that stood out like you know what.I PANICKED.Got the razor out to try and shave at least some of it off and in my flurry managed to accidently cut my legs (badly)and had to wear jeans to school for the week (with a note from mum with some phony excuse)Despite the cuts they still would have needed covering. The colour was baaddd.
5.I loath mice (and snakes) and will just about hyperventilate if I ever see one on the loose
6.I first moved out of home when I was 18 with a female friend and moved back after 3 months when it didn’t work out
7.I can only see out of my left eye. Long story but I had an accident when I was 5 with a hook flying in my eye. Some people that know me don’t know this as its not something you really need to tell people.Have had a couple of eye ops as a young child but have been told its impossible to ever get the sight back.I can see clearly but my view of the world looking straight ahead just isn’t as wide as the average person.Cover one eye and you will see what I mean.It doesn’t affect me.I don’t ever remember it being any different
8.I managed to have my 3 bubs with just some gas (not that I had a choice) LOL.I never knew what sex they were and always thought I was having a boy each time
9.As a kid we used to love going to the grass slides.Just a hill and a bit of cardboard from a box.Sit on it and slide down.Cheap entertainment
10.I love making cupcakes and would like to try my hand at cake decorating one day (amongst other things)
Cheers

Off to School Camp
Hayden went off to school camp this morning. He left early this morning (Monday) and will be back late on friday afternoon.Am i sounding a little anxious? He kept saying how much he will miss us.Gosh we will miss him too.I am hoping he will be so busy with all the great activities and having fun with his mates that he wont have much time to think about it.The worst part is having no contact at all.I know this will be great for him ,especially not having mum to do things and think for him but its going to feel very strange this week with him not around

Cross Country Carnival
Its feels like its been a busy week.I had a few things to post about but I'll just tackle one topic and do some more later ,otherwise it will turn into one big waffle of a post
Tuesday was our Cross Country carnival. Was a busy day with 4 trips to the school as I had my kids spread out into all 3 categories.Infants started at about 9.45.This is the first year they have included the kindy kids which i thought was great. They were to run 500metres which is one lap opposed the the 1km for Yr 1 and 2. Kayles says to me " I hope i come first" I just laughed and thought what high hopes she had.Sure as anything she came first LOL.She was coming third the whole way and then right towards the end she started sprinting and overtook. It was such a thrill and she was pleased as punch and was awarded a blue ribbon.
Now I didnt even think to take my camera so I took some on my phone after i worked out how.Now i have no idea how to get the pic onto my computer. There is no spot for a USB cable and i have tried emailing it to myself but it didnt come through LOL So thats in the too hard basket for the moment.
At 11.50 it was Yr 3 and 4 to run 2km.Lauren is so competitive. She tried her hardest. She was as red as a beetroot and looked like she was going to pass out at the end.Its a pretty good distance for little kids. She did really well and came somewhere shortly after the first 10.Im not sure of the place.I could tell she was disapointed with herself but she so needn't of been as i was so proud of her efforts and kept trying to tell her how well she did
Seniors were up to run at 2pm.Hayden came 9th .Job well done.First 6 go to district and he says hes going to make it there next year.
So was very proud of my 3 and the effort they put in.
Cheers

HAPPY EASTER!
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter today.
My children were very considerate and even though they were awake much earlier they waited until 6.30 to drag me out of bed LOL.So through blurry eyes I took this pic after they ran around the house squealing and finding eggs.Plus the Easter bunny left a few other goodies too so they have been spoilt. They actually heard the Easter bunny last night putting things down on the table. He also ate some of the carrot and was quite messy as he left bits all over the floor
