Luna Park

We took the kids to Luna Park yesterday for the first time.They had an absolute ball.

Lauren was a tad disapointed that she was 2 to 3 cm too short to go on the a few of most daring rides such as the giant drop etc.She is the daredevil in the family.Hayden was tall enough but he is a LOT more reserved.The girls also needed to take an adult with them on a lot of them.The mini Mouse rollercoaster was Laurens fav so Jase must have been on it at least 20 times LOL

Wasnt a place to venture to very often cost wise .It was $220 alone just for our 5 unlimited ride tickets but at least they had a blast.We got there at 10am and it was nearly 6 when we left.They were still talking about it today.

Christmas Celebrations

Phew! As much as you look forward to it and enjoy it ,its still a kind of relief when its over.I guess its like going on holidays and loving it but it still nice to come home to your own bed.Now the Christmas hype is over..we get back to normal life.Normal is good too LOL

2 funfilled days with family and lots of food.We celebrate Christmas over 2 days.Christmas lunch is always at my mums and then we come home and just spend the rest of the day with the kids.It was very chilly and the kids were a tad disapointed that it wasn't swimming weather.They made up for it today on Boxing Day whilst celebrating Xmas with Jasons side of the family.

Twas the night before Christmas

...when all through the house.Not a creature was stiring,not even a mouse

NOT IN THIS HOUSE LOL

My kids were sooo excited last night..just busting with anticipation of the old fella visiting in his red suit.Hayden couldnt get to sleep and had been in bed a couple of hours trying his hardest and he started to get upset with frustration.I layed down with him and he eventually went off.I do all the normal things us mums do up late on Xmas eve and am just about to log off the computer at 1am and head off to bed when Kayley appears

"Mum!!! Santas been.I can see presents ..even a bike".I tell her he must have just been or maybe its just shadows she has seen but she better hop into bed with me and go straight to sleep.I was thinking if shes with me then at least she wont go out and start opening.At 2am she is still awake,way too excited to sleep.I put her back in her own bed.I think she went to sleep..not sure LOL

THEN... at exactly 3am I wake to all 3 kids in the area where Santa had left his stash.The light had been switched on and they were VERY excited.I tell them it still the middle of the night and they must go back to bed.Hayden goes back to sleep.The girls get into bed together and i hear them muttering away.Im pretty certain they never went back to sleep.I told them we could start opening at 6am so of course they pop their heads in to check the time a few times after that." Is it time yet ?"

Soooo I joked that I think some sedation is required next year LOL I was exhausted before the day had started.Its all worth it though

The boyfriend

Kayley made me laugh this morning so thought share.She is not the type of girl who is put off by boy germs even at age 5.She will proudly tell everyone that she actually has 2 boyfriends..Zac and Travis.Zac is her fav as "in her own words" she gets to spend more time with him (2 and half hours of preschool each day)LOL

This morning we were talking about how we are meeting up with all the preschool kids and their mums at Maccas as Preschool is shut for the day on Thursday.The convo went like this

Kayley~ Zac isnt going to be there is he?I really hope he isnt going
Me~Why? I thought you liked Zac
Kayley ~Mum, we broke up.I (the I was emphasized)broke it off with him
Me ~(Trying not to laugh) Oh how come ?(not good grammar...I know ! I know!)
Kayley~ Cos my friends told me too
Me~ Oh! Well you know you should do what you want to do not what they tell you
Kayley~Well if hes there i still might play with him.Actually I will play with him ....but only if Chloe and Sophie (her friends)are not around

Poor Zac!LOL Preschool finishes up this week and she might not see Zac again as he is going to a different big school so probably the best time to break up anyway LOL

LUSH

My girls discovered the Lush shop and are in love LOL

We were walking to the fruit market on Saturday and being busy with Xmas shoppers we had trouble parking.This market is within a shopping centre and we must have spent a good half an hour trying to find a parking spot hence not getting a close one.Well, it worked out well as we walked past Lush and I have always wanted to take my girls there but one of those things I havent gotten around to doing.

OMG how they loved it.We came home with some goodies and a brochure that Lauren has been drooling over ever since.She already has her birthday present picked out and its not until October

I think she summered it up by saying this about 6hrs after we had been there."Mum i so love that shop.I cant stop thinking about it"

A Sad Goodbye

Laurens best friend had her last day of school on friday and was headed straight off for Victoria (about 12hrs away).They are both finishing Yr 2 this year and have been close friends since kindy.They have been counting down the days and then eventually the hours they had left together. I know its life but it was heartbreaking to hear them talk about being best friends forever and how much they love each other.My girl smiled and hugged goodbye keeping a brave face so as not to make it harder for her friend.Then when we got to the car there were tears and lots of them.She has plenty of other friends but she hasnt been herself and didnt want to go to school today.We will still have contact by phone,letter and email but I guess its not the same is it?I'll just do my best to keep her positive

My little Preschool Graduate

We have been so busy and Ive been slack and havent taken the time to blog

Here is my Miss Kayley.She officially graduated from preschool yesterday.How funny is that?Would be a worry if she failed LOL.Her preschool is just the best and I cant thank the teachers enough for making this preschool year such an enjoyable one.She has 2 teachers who job share and they are just so genuine and caring.

We are off to the paediatric opthamologist shortly for a review so fingers crossed that goes well

Lauren is also auditioning for the school talent quest today.She has made up her own dance..God love her.There are loads of kids auditioning so not sure if she will get in but I love that she is giving it a go all of her own accord.I have had no input at all except to put some rollers in her hair last night LOL.I forgot to take a pic this morning.I asked her if she is nervous at all and she said "No! Why would i be nervous Mum? It will be fun!".I think thats great and wish I had confidence like that as a kid or even now..I would be packing it.She is auditioning in front of all the infants kids

Anyways...will be off for now.Will have to make sure I blog some more especially with the holidays coming up soon

Sleeping Sisters

Have had a busy week this past week and have a bit of blogging to catch up on but its late and im half asleep.So I'll just pop this pic of my girls that i took this week sleeping (In my bed mind you) Quite often one of them will end up in our bed,usually Kayley.I will wake and shes in my arms and I dont even remember her coming in.Kinda nice to wake up too.She says I move over for her but I must just do it in my sleep.Although we discourage this , when it happens we dont make a fuss.I've learnt that life can be to short to sweat the small stuff.

Anyway on this night both girls made there way into our bed and did not want to go back in their own for some reason.Now 4 in the bed doesnt quite work especially when i seem to have to share my half with them LOL.So this night I couldnt be bothered with the hassle of putting them back and just went and crashed on the lounge.I think it was about 4.30 am anyway

How to explain Kayleys attire LOL.She has a tracky jacket on.She is in love with her new Chino dress and insisted on wearing it to bed but she got a bit cold LOL.This is a pic of her earlier in her own bed when i remembered to check on her at about midnight and covered her up.Yes i probably shouldnt be lurking around with my camera at midnight but you have to capture these moments



Now lastly a pic of the beloved dress which has been worn so much this past week.Lauren has got this same dress and Kayley so wanted one as well.I think it will be a very worthwhile purchase

The perfect gift~Forever Friends~

I am so fussy when i buy pressies.I will often spend ages searching for just the right thing.

Laurens best friend is moving interstate next month.They are really close and play everyday at school and have had sleepovers and will no doubt miss each other lots.We will make sure we stay in touch though.

I already have her this cute little ornamental flowerpot with pretend pink daisies that says"BEST FRIENDS" and a gorgeous card that comes with a book mark (she loves to read too) with a lovely friendship verse

I have been keeping my eye out for that something else and today i found it..a little book with the most gorgeous illustrations of 2 little girls.It s just perfectThe content goes like this~

Egg Friends

Yesterday I did the grocery shopping and Kayley decided she was going to help pack away.She grabbed the container we have in the fridge for eggs and said" Oh look Mum there is only one egg left.Its looks lonely.I think it needs some friends.

She proceeded very enthusiastically, unpacking the carton of eggs and counting as she went.

One friend,two friends,three friends......we got up to eight friends and the next one hit the slate.The look on her face was priceless "Ooops ...one broken friend" she said before we both started giggling.

So cute and just an example of how she cracks me up all the time.

Today Kayley was nagging to go swimming.I think she really just wanted to try her new cossie out.I came down with a bad cold last night so last thing i felt like doing was taking them out.We filled up our little clam and it kept the girls amused for yonks

Cupcakes,fairywands and twirly dresses

We had Laurens birthday party today and she had a ball.Her actual birthday isnt until Tuesday so I'll enjoy her being 7 for a few more days

I am half asleep sitting here writing this post.Its been a busy week and the kids go back to school on Monday.I also painted Laurens room this week and sorted through all her things so her room is all spick now LOL.

We had the party here at home.Bar the normal family parties you tend to have when they are babies and toddlers, I have always steered clear of doing the home party and opted for somewhere else to trash LOL.This year (although they dont have one every year) I have had 2 of the kids parties here and its wasnt that bad at all.

Today we kept the girls entertained with lots of games..Pass the parcel,Pin the tail on the unicorn,musical statues and of course a pinata chock full of treats (it had to be Bratz)Thats actually the reason why Lauren wanted the party here,so she could have lots of good old fashioned games and prizes.

The cupcakes and fairywands we made were a mega hit.The girls and I made them together yesterday.I iced and they decorated.It was great fun.Lauren is also having her best friend sleep over and i have just managed to get them settled (girls do love to natter)Anyway I better head off for some shut eye

Spring Days

Well,we are right into spring now so thought Id try to give my blog a little makeover hehe.Was getting a bit dull I think

We are the first week into school holidays.Love it! The summer gear is out and the weather is fab.We really havent done much so far.Jase went up to his parents over the long weekend.His mum is going through a tough time as her brother has terminal cancer so he thought the visit would cheer her up

Ness & Craig came up on sunday with my niece and nephew and as their birthday is the day after Haydens (they are twins) ,Lauren is in a week and a half and mine was 2 days after Haydens (which is the day after Maddy & Connors ..if you follow)it was pressies all round.They also gave K a pressie too as they didnt want her to feel left out.How nice! We had a BBQ and a really nice day.

Its also been a week for catching up with old friends as well.Out of the blue I heard from an old friend.We lost contact years ago and Ive often wondered how she was doing so that was really special to hear from her.Also been in touch with a few other friends too..All thanks to the wonders of the internet.

Okay well I better be off.Ill finish off my posting a pic of my cowgirl Kayley.I took this shot earlier before she raced back inside to play.She saw this hat whilst shopping the other day and would not take it off. I called it a cowboy hat and was quickly corrected.."Its Cowgirl Mum..NOT boy" I stand corrected LOL

Happy Birthday Hayden

Cant believe my boy is 10 today.Where have the years gone.Please dont make the next 10 go as fast

He had a sleepover party on Saturday night with 5 friends.OMG who would have known boys could gas bag so much.A nice group of boys but a few that are quite loud LOL.I notice it as Hayden is a fairly quiet kid.Anyway i think they were up most of the night but had a ball which is what its all about

He got spoilt and didnt want to go to school today

Here are some pics.The first is him blowing out the candles on his choc mud Pokemon cake.I made it and it was a disaster that came together well in the end

Last is of him at his choice of venue for dinner tonight..Lonestar.He got this brownie for free (YUM!) and cacked himself laughing when the staff all got together and sang happy birthday whilst half the people dining there joined in as well

The damage

Well we got to take the bandage off Kayleys chin yesterday

It doesnt look near as bad now its stitched up.Very lucky where it is, as although it will scar I think looking front on you will barely notice it

Been telling her to slow down bit and at preschool.She is steering clear of the sand pit (dont want sand getting amongst the stitches)and climbing

Ive also been telling her to please dont touch it and explained about how germs can cause infection .She told me today that at preschool they all wanted to look and some even wanted to touch it but she told them not to as it is germs LOL She got it round the wrong way but at least we didnt have any grotty hands on her chin

An accident

My poor Kayles had an accident on friday at preschool.She somehow slipped from the top of the climbing thingo and has caught it on something on the way down.
2 gashes on her chin an inch each.She had 6 stitches

I was quite shocked when i saw it..It looked deep and lots of blood.I tried to remain calm for her but couldnt stop the tears when she was having the needles in her chin.She was trying so hard to be brave but it obviously hurt a lot

The preschool were fantastic as they always are.The assistant came in the car with us so she could hold the wound

So proud of my big little brave girl.You have always been a tough little cookie

Daisy Chains

What a fun packed weekend my girls and I have had

Jase has gone away with his brother and Hayden for a boys weekend leaving us girls to do what we do best..girly stuff

The girls and I have done so much.Lea and Bai came shopping with us on Sat to one of my fav shops.We even managed to find a nice stationary shop so Lauren was in love with that and already asking when we can go back

Then we headed off to my SILS.The girls had fun playing with their cousins Kymberlie and Selena and (Aunty)Sylvia had asked us to pack our pjs in the hope that her and i would have some drinkies after (trying) to get all the girls to bed.We had chinese and they took over 2hrs to deliver.Had we of known up front we would have picked up.Anyway we had a great night but I had 1 glass of wine and I crashed on the lounge.Great company I turned out to be LOL must have been all that shopping

Today we went shopping again but this time just some groceries and then visited my parents.Was so great to see them as they have been away travelling for months and got back friday night.My brothers called in with their families so was great to see them too

We did lots of other little fun things as well.Lauren said tonight she didnt want the weekend to end

Here a pic of the girls today.Yes it was a bit to cold to go swimming which they soon discovered after pestering me to let them go in.The weather was beautiful but the water was COLD .They are here with my brothers gorgeous 8 week old Jack Russell puppy.Her name is Roxy and we could have easily brought her home.Poor thing didnt get left alone

Pink Party for a Princess

My friend Lea put on a lovely pink party today in celebration of Angel Avas fourth birthday, down beside the river.It was gorgeous day today..the best we've had in a long time and the sun was in full force and considering it is still technically winter I think we may have had some help

Lots of nice pink food and the gorgeous Bailea (Leas 3yr old daughter) made a yummy pink birthday cake(pink inside and out btw)

We took a plate full of pink treats and the kids had lots of fun playing

Our heart goes out to you Sheye and family .You are always in our thoughts but even moreso during this extra difficult time.Your beautiful girl is sure to be dancing with lots of pink balloons atm.Happy Birthday Princess!

We love books!

We are big book lovers in this house

I dont know why it has taken us so long but we have only recently discovered our local library.Well not discovered it as I have always known its been there but we've never ventured inside to actually look.Took the kids there on Saturday and got them each their own library card.We went home and did lots of reading and they were so keen we ventured back on sunday for more books.

Lauren is completing the NSW reading challenge along with lots of other kids and we had a bit of catching up to do.Hayden got some mags,Pokemon ,Spiderman and Batman books.Kayley got lots of early reader books

They loved that they got to scan their own books on our way out.How excitement LOL.They were asking if we can go back again and i told them Im happy to take them to the library as often as they like.Hoping the novelty doesnt wear off too quick

My Scrapper Girl!

Lauren has fallen in love with scrapbooking.She has always loved craft and she LOVES stationary. The girl has so many notepads and fancy pens she could open up her own shop.Its funny because they are the sort of things i liked as a girl too.She would much rather be let loose in Office works than have the latest toy

Recently she gave up dancing.Was a bit sad to see her let it go after all the work she has put in.She really did enjoy it but i think in her mind it was time to move on.

She had been pestering me for ages to try and get her into a proper scrapbooking class.I have never actually put my hand to it myself although I know i could if i found the time ,so it was something that was her own idea

Anyway I got her into a class these school hols just past and OMG she absolutely loved it and filled up nearly a whole book within the following week.Next month she starts Scrapper school which is 2hrs every friday night.She cant wait.I better get my butt into gear and order some photos.They usually just sit on the computer and rarely make it into print
