Happy Mothers Day!
Happy Mothers Day to all
I awoke EARLY to my 3 with a bundle or beautifully wrapped pressies.Handmade (the best kind) and from the Mothers Day stall at school. These included lip gloss, nail buffer, candles, windchimes and also some nice mugs I helped pick out.I will take some more pics later.I only managed one and my camera died.I did fix it (the lense needed cleaning and battery charge) but by then i was busy with other things (like cleaning up)
So here is a pic that my 5yr old daughter Kayley spent 2 nights colouring in, in her room.I just love this to bits.I knew she was up to something as she kept worrying Id see what she was doing. She loves colouring in and is quite good at it
It would have been nice to have asleep in and I did try but it wasnt going to happen.Jase cooked bacon and eggs though so that made up for it
My heart goes go out to the mums that are "missing " today. I dont know if its possible that they miss moreso today as they do everyday but i guess its another significant reminder .Hard to find the right things to say but my thoughts are with you

New working life
Well I have been super busy getting used to working life and trying to balance with my family and getting sleep.I'll have my little waffle here and then get on with some more light hearted fun kid stuff,Okay? My new occupation is I guess what you or I would call a "servo chick" or technically a "console operator" and before you laugh along with me...Its a job right? I didnt exactly have employers knocking on my door after so many years out of the workforce raising my kiddos.
I work 11pm to 6am 3 nights a week with some extra here and there. Last week was my first working week after training. I did 4 shifts and to say i was buggered is an understatement.I felt like i could barely walk LOL.During your shift you dont feel it but when you stop ,it kicks in. I am sure in time I will get used to it.Its not just the "Ive been staying up half the night on my butt on my computer/self inflicted" type of tired. Its more a "Ive been stocking, cleaning and serving on my feet all night and need sleep "type tired. When I sleep, I am in such a deep sleep.I know this also cos i am having weird dreams which i dont normally.Having said all that,I am enjoying it and i think working outside of the home can do wonders for self esteem.
I am very grateful to have a job and will just takes this as it comes and see how long my body can handle the nights.I'm hoping that in time things will fall into a pattern and Ive never been one to need loads of sleep. I particularly was looking for night work so i could work the longer hours without having to use care and also wouldn't be stuck in school hols as i would be if i committed to a permanent part time day job.I do also think it is much easier to get a job if you are currently employed so i am one step ahead in the right direction.
Kayley made me laugh. She was asking me lots of questions about my job and she says "Mum I like what you do.Cos working in a service station would be reallly hard you know" She was so serious .God I love her
