Can someone tell my kids...

...that its winter.I have tried.It was freezing here today.I pick Hayden and Lauren up from school and they have their short sleeve polos on,having taken off their jumpers sometime during the day.They make me shiver just looking at them .I had a hard time getting Lauren to even wear a jumper today.She told me she will just take it off when she gets to school LOL.I said as long as I look like I send you off to school properly.

Kayley also strips off when she gets home from preschool.Today they made vegetable soup and when i picked her up I was greeted with a cup just for me.She drew the picture below at home for me today.It is the two of us and also picked me a flower from our sparse weed garden...We do have one tree that is flowering beautifully and im not even sure what its called so thats where my flower came from.

Kayley wanted to wear her thongs up to the school to pick up Lauren and Hayden (picture rain,puddles everywhere and freezing)and when I told her she couldnt ,that she would need to wear covered in shoes she told me not to boss her around.Cheeky Devil!

Today my very good friend Lisas little boy "Corey" celebrated his 1st birthday.Where has the time gone?It seems like yesterday we were looking at the line of the pregancy test and here he is running around

SISTERS!

I grew up with brothers and always though how nice it would be to have a sister

Little did i know what the future held .Last year my sister Ashley came into my life.Not in the best of circumstances but a blessing in disguise to say the least.It's certainly up there as one of the biggest shocks of my life.

This pic was taken last year on the first night we met.With a huge 22yrs between us i am easily old enough to be her mum

Ash was only 13yrs old when this pic was taken.Very hard to believe.I have to remind myself how old she is as she seems very mature for her age.We hit it off instantly..a natural rapport but i feel guilty..guilt that i dont make enough time for her.We do try to get together.We go out the 2 of us and have dinner and chat and chat.My children adore her and its no wonder why

The weeks seem to slip by and i haven't made the effort.Yes i've been busy but how long does it take to pick up the phone and say hello.

I feel like I should be making up for lost time and i'm not.I'm not taking my own advice ..as Ive put in the header of this blog.Im not taking time to stop and smell the roses

Rainy Days

Its been pouring down on and off since yesterday.Feels like winter is finally here as its real chilly.

Much to my dismay ,I discovered I had a big hole in the sole of my boots yesterday when the water poured in and soaked into my sock..YUK! Must get a new pair.Had to change into sneakers and Kayley asked why am I wearing my running shoes. I dont normally "do" sneakers unless Im exercising which is 'never " these days LOL (note to change that real soon before i need a new wardrobe)

This morning Miss K came in and i was already up and getting ready.She said "Mum hop back into bed, I want a cuddle.I hopped back in and wrapped my arms around her.OH..I could just do that all day

She is home from preschool today.She says she is not well but i know the real reason is she wants to spend the whole day with me.She only goes for 2 and a half hours each day so what the heck..I let her stay home
